Ukrainian Drones Attack Oil Refinery and Ozon Depot in Saratov

In the early hours of September 11, Ukrainian strike UAVs attacked the Russian city of Saratov, causing fires at the local oil refinery and Ozon logistics center.

The incidents were reported by the OSINT project Exilenova+.

Videos and photos released by local residents show large fires and plumes of smoke rising over both sites.

Ozon officially confirmed that its logistics center and delivery hub were hit in the strike.

Due to the fire, the facility temporarily stopped accepting deliveries and fulfilling new customer orders in Saratov and the surrounding region.

Some of the placed orders will be canceled, while others will be attempted to be delivered from neighboring logistics centers.

The Saratov Ozon center began operations in 2024. The complex has a total area of more than 100,000 square meters. It is designed to store over 30 million items and process up to 900,000 orders per day.

Saratov region Governor Roman Busargin stated that there were no casualties as a result of the attack.

The oil refinery hit in the attack is currently one of Russia’s largest industrial facilities for oil refining and the production of gasoline, diesel fuel, fuel oil, road and roofing bitumen, vacuum gas oil, and technical sulfur.

The facility is owned by Rosneft. As of 2024, it processed about 5.8 million tonnes of crude oil, accounting for 2.2% of Russia’s total oil refining volume.

This is already the second attack on the refinery in just a few days: the facility was hit in a previous strike overnight on September 8.

Earlier, attacks even forced the refinery to shut down a primary crude oil processing unit with a capacity of about 20,000 tonnes per day.
