The Ukrainian Defense Forces struck a Russian ammunition depot in Mariupol during the night of March 11, triggering a fire at the site.
ASTRA reported this.
Local residents recorded the fire and secondary explosions near the airfield on camera.
After the occupation of Mariupol and its surrounding areas, Russian forces have been actively using local infrastructure for military purposes, including storing ammunition for artillery and missile systems.
Back in 2024, the Naval Forces launched a missile strike on an enemy artillery ammunition storage facility near occupied Mariupol.
The Russian military facility located in the settlement of Hlyboke is considered deep in the rear, as it is about 100 kilometers from the front line.
Militarnyi previously reported that the Ukrainian Defense Forces had struck a large Russian army ammunition depot in the temporarily occupied city of Debaltseve in the Donetsk region.
