Ukrainian Armor Signs Strategic Partnership Memorandum With MBDA

Ukrainian Armor has signed a memorandum of strategic partnership with MBDA, the manufacturer of Meteor, Taurus and Storm Shadow/SCALP missiles.

The Ukrainian company shared this in a press release.

The document was signed on June 10 on the sidelines of the ILA Berlin Air Show. The memorandum was signed by Vladyslav Belbas, CEO of Ukrainian Armor, and representatives of MBDA.

MBDA reported that the priority areas of cooperation at the initial stage will be the development of deep-strike capabilities and counter-drone systems.

“The exchange of technological expertise, development of joint production programs and introduction of innovative solutions will ensure the operational superiority in high-intensity conflicts and be the basis for close collaboration with the envisaged goal of establishing a Joint Venture. At the same time, these areas represent only part of a broader strategic partnership program and of which further details will be announced in due course,” the company said in a press release.

MBDA emphasized that it seeks to support the Ukrainian defense industry by promoting the development of autonomous production capabilities and is prepared to make a significant contribution through its experience and expertise in the development, production and maintenance of missile systems.

“This partnership is a historic step both for strengthening Ukraine’s defense capabilities and for building a new European security architecture. We combine MBDA’s deep technological expertise with real-world experience in integrating weapons in wartime and the manufacturing flexibility of Ukrainian Armor. Joint work on deep-strike systems and CAS capabilities is aimed, first of all, at strengthening the defense of our state in conditions of high-intensity warfare. Our main task is to ensure Ukraine’s technological autonomy and provide our defenders with weapons that will deliver an operational advantage on the battlefield,” Vladyslav Belbas, CEO of Ukrainian Armor LLC, said after the signing of the memorandum.

MBDA is one of the world’s leading developers and manufacturers of missile systems and precision-guided weapons.

The company’s portfolio includes more than 45 missile systems in service with more than 90 countries worldwide.

The company also participates in the production of a number of key Western weapons systems, including Patriot, Meteor, Taurus, Storm Shadow/SCALP and Enforcer missiles.
