The Armed Forces of Ukraine destroyed the Russian 1L119 Nebo-SVU radar in the temporarily occupied part of the Kherson region.

The photos on the issue were published by the Telegram channel Dosye_shpiona.

It is reported that the radar destroyed on January 18, 2024, belonged to one of the units of the 90th Anti-Aircraft Missile Brigade of the 49th Combined Arms Army (military unit 54821, Krasnodar Krai).

According to the channel, three attack drones were involved in the attack on 1L119 Nebo-SVU.

According to a preliminary assessment, the attacked Russian radar station can’t be restored. The diesel power plant DES ED3x30-T400-1RA1M6 was also destroyed.

It is worth noting that the destruction of 1L119 Nebo-SVU was also reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in its report on January 18, 2024.

1L119 Nebo-SVU

The 1L119 Nebo-SVU radar is a development of the Nebo-SV station. It is designed to control airspace, detect, determine coordinates and track air targets: strategic and tactical aircraft, as well as stealth targets.

Nebo-SVU recognizes classes of targets and can determine their state affiliation.

The station can also track the producers of active noise interference. It operates both as part of automated air defense control systems and independently.

The range of detection of a target such as a fighter jet at an altitude of 20 km is up to 380 km, and at an altitude of 500 m, up to 65 km.

The radar has a short deployment time of up to 30 minutes and is manned by 4 people. It is claimed to have high cross-country ability and can be deployed in unprepared positions.
