On the night of June 2, Ukrainian air defense destroyed 15 cruise missiles and 21 kamikaze drones, which the Russians had used to attack the Kyiv region.

The invaders used air-launched cruise missiles and Iranian-made Shahed loitering munition to attack the Ukrainian capital.
However, Ukrainian air defense forces managed to shoot down all air targets.
“Another night attack ended in failure for the enemy and another success of the Ukrainian air defense!”, the statement reads.
The Ukrainian Air Force reported that the Russian invaders first attacked Ukraine with Shahed-136/131 kamikaze drones. It happened around 11 p.m. on June 1.
Enemy drones entered the Kyiv region from the south, using the topography of the area and the channel of the Dnipro River.
Also, around 3:00 a.m. on June 2, Russian Kh-101/Kh-555 cruise missiles appeared in the airspace of Ukraine, having been launched by Tu-95MS strategic bombers from the Caspian Sea area. They entered from the northern direction, attacking Kyiv.
Russian missiles changed their flight path, trying to mislead Ukrainian air defenses.
According to the military reports, the air defense of the Air Force of Ukraine destroyed 15 cruise missiles and 21 kamikaze drones over and around the capital.
Head of the Kyiv Regional Military Administration, Ruslan Kravchenko, reported that a man and a child were injured as a result of falling debris during a massive enemy air attack on the Kyiv region.
In addition, debris damaged five detached houses. In three of them, the damage is minor, limited to broken windows and chopped facades. Two houses caught fire, which as of now has already been extinguished.
