Ukraine could receive Germany’s latest Wingcopter 262 reconnaissance drone.
The German company Wingcopter GmbH told Militarnyi about the potential delivery.
The Wingcopter 262 has a tactical range of up to 150 kilometers and can stay airborne for up to six hours.
This vertical takeoff and landing unmanned aerial vehicle has a maximum takeoff weight of only 10 kg.
The platform is equipped with AI-enabled electro-optical/infrared sensor systems, dedicated data and video communication links, and a positioning system validated under real-world operational conditions in Ukraine.
The modular Wingcopter 262 is designed for rapid deployment while minimizing the operator’s workload.
The Wingcopter features a tilt-rotor configuration, a fully electric propulsion system, and a wingspan of 262 centimeters, from which the aircraft derives its name.
The system requires no specialized launch infrastructure, and a single operator can prepare it for a mission within just a few minutes.
As part of the Build with Ukraine initiative, Wingcopter is also cooperating with the Ukrainian company TAF Industries.
“The cooperation focuses on the serial production of Ukrainian reconnaissance UAVs and ensuring Ukraine’s access to the Wingcopter 262,” the company shared.
Previously, TAF Industries and Wingcopter signed a memorandum of understanding to establish a joint venture to manufacture drones.
Wingcopter GmbH is a German technology company that develops, manufactures, markets, and operates fully electric unmanned aerial vehicles.
