Units of the Ukrainian Defense Forces have been ordered to observe a ceasefire along the line of contact from 00:00 on September 5 until 23:59 on September 8.

This was reported by the publication Ukrainska Pravda and confirmed by Militarnyi’s own sources.

According to the sources, Ukrainian troops may open fire only in response to Russian actions. It is currently unknown whether Russia will implement a reciprocal ceasefire.

Shortly before the ceasefire was announced, it became known that the U.S. is insisting that Ukraine temporarily halt attacks on Moscow and Russian energy facilities, and that Russia suspend missile strikes on Kyiv while Trump’s envoys are in the country.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky confirmed a temporary suspension of strikes on Russian territory while the American negotiators are there.

It is worth noting that up to this point, even when Russia announced a temporary ‘ceasefire,’ the occupiers have never once adhered to it.

This applies to both the ‘Easter truce’ and the ‘May truce’ in 2026, as well as the ‘energy truce’ and ‘maritime truce’ in 2025.
