The German company TYTAN Technologies is set to begin mass production of its interceptor drones that have already been tested in Ukraine.
The company announced this on its social media channels.
To support this move, TYTAN Technologies opened a new branch in Bavaria on Monday, January 26. The company said the expansion of its office and manufacturing facilities marks a strategic shift from the development phase to full-scale production.
At the new branch, development, system integration, quality management, and scaling processes will be centralized.
TYTAN Technologies aims to produce up to 3,000 interceptor drones per month by the end of the year.
The mission of the German company is to protect European airspace using cost-effective and accessible autonomous interceptors to counter unmanned aerial threats.
The company’s interceptor drones are designed for use as part of a multi-layered air defense system.
TYTAN Technologies noted that it has already successfully tested its interception systems in Ukraine and continues to refine them on an ongoing basis.
The company also stated that it works with the armed forces of various countries to ensure the compatibility and operational effectiveness of its interceptor drones within existing military structures.
Tests of the German company’s interceptor drones in Ukraine were first reported in late 2024.
According to the developer, the Tytan interceptor drone can reach speeds of over 250 km/h and has a range exceeding 15 km. It has a takeoff weight of 5 kg and can carry a payload, such as a warhead, of up to 1 kg. Meanwhile, Brave1 reported a speed of up to 300 km/h and a range of up to 20 km.
Last October, the Bundeswehr and TYTAN Technologies signed an agreement to jointly develop an interceptor to protect military facilities from drone threats.
