The United States has developed an inexpensive Ragnarök mini-missile that can strike targets at a distance of more than 900 kilometers.

The new missile was presented by Kratos.

The weapon can be used both from manned aircraft and drones for precision strikes.

The range of the Ragnarök missile is 500 nautical miles (926 km), as stated by the manufacturer.

It can carry a payload of 80 pounds (36 kg) at a speed of Mach 0.7 at an altitude of up to 10.6 km.

The Ragnarök Low-Cost Cruise Missile (LCCM) is small and has an innovative wing folding mechanism that allows for compact storage and transportation.

Parts of the hull and wings are made of composite materials, which reduces weight and improves functionality.

Among other things, the missiles can be placed in the internal compartments of the XQ-58 Valkyrie jet drone, another Kratos product.

The missiles can also be launched from palletized launch systems that are transported by transport aircraft.

The cost of one missile is estimated at $150,000 when ordering a batch of 100.

In its release, the company does not mention the possibility of launching from ground or surface platforms, nor does it specify guidance methods or payload options other than a warhead.

The Ragnarök missile is designed for precision strikes. The claimed performance indicates significantly higher capabilities than most existing barrage munitions, while remaining within affordable cost.
