65% of poll participants support the introduction of a no-fly zone over Ukraine in the event of a protracted war.
Radio Svoboda reported about this.
These figures come from the last poll results that were conducted in May.
The online media noted that the Americans are supporting the idea of assisting Ukraine, even with the price being increased inflation and higher energy costs. These are the main outcomes of a poll that was released by specialists of the Washington Brookings Institution.
It is emphasised that to help Ukraine, 62% of respondents stated they were prepared to endure higher energy costs, and 58% expressed readiness for increased inflation.
A third of the respondents also believe that even the loss of U.S. troops is permissible to support Ukraine. All of these figures come from the survey conducted in May.
It is worth noting that 65 percent of survey participants support the idea of introducing a no-fly zone over Ukraine in the event of a protracted war. This is the highest number within the entire time of conducting similar polls.
While a plurality of respondents says that both Russia and Ukraine are neither succeeding nor failing in their military efforts (37% and 40%, respectively), they see Ukraine as rather succeeding than failing (27% to 20%), while they see Russia as rather failing than succeeding (29% to 20%).
The low assessment of Russia’s chances of victory is reflected in the general readiness to support Ukraine, as per sociologists who conducted the poll.
As previously reported, a Member of the U.S. Congress has introduced legislation outlining the training of the Ukrainian fighter jet pilots.
This bill would allow the United States to start training the Ukrainian pilots and aircrew members on the F-15 and F-16 fighter jets and other air platforms while the United States continues to consider sending this equipment to Ukraine.
Previously, the Militarnyi team spoke with the Ukrainian fighter jet pilot with the call sign “Juice”. The talk covered the time needed for training and mastering western aviation platforms, the specifics of training pilots and engineers, and the specifics of ground infrastructure and airfields.
