The developers disclosed the characteristics of the 2S22 Bohdana self-propelled guns during an international defense exhibition in Turkey.

At the International Defense Industry Fair (IDEF 2023), Ukroboronprom representatives discussed the technical characteristics of the Ukrainian self-propelled howitzer, including its firepower and driving qualities.

Thus, it was stated that the artillery unit with a 155-mm gun with a 52-caliber barrel length has a firing rate of 5 rounds per minute. The onboard ammunition capacity is 20 155-mm shells.

The horizontal angle of the gun rotation is between -30 and 30 degrees, and the elevation is between -5 and 65 degrees. The firing range is up to 40-42 km.

A minute and a half are required to bring the ACS into combat position, and the same amount of time is needed to transfer it to the transport position.

Communication facilities in a combat vehicle are represented by digital radio and telephone communications.

It is stated that the ACS is equipped with a data exchange system. This term presumably means the Kropyva or Delta automatic gunfire control system.

According to the developers, the electronic component of 2S22 Bohdana also includes a navigation system and an onboard fire control system. The latter, however, was not spotted working on the samples now used in combat.

The armored cabin of the vehicle is adapted for movement in the dark without the use of headlights in blacking-out mode. To do this, a screen is installed for the driver in the cockpit, on which images are displayed from the front and rear infrared cameras.

The manufacturers also note that self-propelled guns are able to reach speeds of up to 30 km/h off-road and up to 80 km/h on roads. The driving range of the system in the said conditions is 500 and 800 km.

The platform is able to move on surfaces with an upward angle of up to 30 degrees or a lateral angle of 25 degrees. It can also wade through water bodies up to 1.2 meters deep. The weight of the self-propelled howitzer will be up to 28 tons.
