The Armed Forces of Ukraine destroyed a Russian armored personnel carrier with an RP-377 jamming system.
The commander of the Magyar Birds company announced this in his Telegram channel.
A combat vehicle and an RP-377 system were reportedly destroyed near the village of Krynky, on the left bank of the Kherson region.
The armored vehicles were hit by FPV drones, and according to Magyar, it took three of them to destroy.
The fact that this is RP-377 is evidenced by the characteristic shape and color of the case, antennas, beams, and fasteners.
The Russian “family” of these vehicles consists of RP-377A, RP-377L, RP-377LA Lorandit, RP-377VM, RP-377 UVM1L Lesochek, RP-377VM1, RP-377VM2, RP-377VM3, RP-377UVM2, and RP-377UVM3.
It is worth noting that the Lorandit announced by Magyar is a system in the format of a separate vehicle that has a large number of cylindrical antennas and operates stationary.
Therefore, the RP-377 UVM1L Lesochek or one of the RP-377VM versions that are designed to be installed on armored vehicles can presumably be destroyed.
Militarnyi has repeatedly reported on the capture of representatives of the RP-377 family of EW systems during the Russian-Ukrainian war.
For example, in March 2022, an armored vehicle with this system was captured in the northern direction, and in September of the same year was captured in the Kharkiv region.
RP-377 is an electronic warfare system designed to protect personnel and equipment from radio-controlled DIY drones. It is used during the movement of columns, in the parking lot, and to protect railway rolling stock.
This equipment has a small size and weight. Such an EW system is installed on various types of armored vehicles, namely BTR-80/82, Typhoon-K, GAZ Tiger, and Lynx (Iveco LMV).
Russian military in Syria is widely using these EW systems.
