The Swedish government has allocated over €7 million for the Drone Coalition and the Demining Capability Coalition as part of military aid to Ukraine.

The Swedish Ministry of Defence reported on this.

The funds will be transferred by the Swedish Armed Forces.

This aid is provided within the framework of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group in the Ramstein format.

It is noted that the support, totaling SEK 80 million, is part of the 18th military aid package for Ukraine, valued at $1.22 billion (SEK 13.5 billion). This package was allocated at the end of January and became Sweden’s largest since the beginning of the full-scale war.

Sweden will support the Demining Capability Coalition with SEK 40 million (€3.6 million) and the Drone Coalition with the same amount.

“This support ensures that Ukraine can develop its drone technology and demining capabilities. It will help the Ukrainian army and society,” said the country’s Defense Minister, Pål Jonson.

Sweden joined the Drone Coalition in January and the Demining Capability Coalition in September last year.

Military Aid from Sweden

On Wednesday, March 26, it was announced that the Swedish government would nearly double its military aid to Ukraine for 2025. The planned military aid budget is proposed to increase from SEK 25 billion to over SEK 40 billion.

“This will allow Ukraine, which is in a vulnerable situation, to urgently strengthen its defense capabilities,” the statement says.

The increase in aid became possible due to the reallocation of funds from the Framework Program for Ukraine for 2026.

Sweden signed a contract to produce and supply 18 Archer self-propelled artillery systems and 5 ARTHUR counter-battery radars to Ukraine. The deal is worth about $300 million and is part of the 18th package of military assistance to Ukraine. In addition, the Swedish government will finance the production of Ukrainian weapons based on the Danish model.
