Fighters of the SSU Special Group Alpha organized a long-range drone strike on the arsenal of the Russian GRAU in the Kostroma region.
A source in the Security Service shared this with Ukrinform.
The military facility of the aggressor country was targeted on the night of January 6. According to the sources, powerful explosions were heard on the territory of the arsenal at night as a result of the detonation of ammunition.
“The local authorities started evacuating the population from the nearby settlements. The invaders were supplied with ammunition from this depot for lower-level depots in the western and central directions,” the source shared.
Several photos and videos from the scene were posted on social media, showing thick dark smoke rising.

In the morning, Sergei Sitnikov, the governor of the Kostroma region, initially claimed in his post that “several facilities” in the Neya district had been damaged as a result of “falling debris” from drones allegedly shot down by Russian air defense.
However, he was later forced to announce the evacuation of local residents from certain areas of the settlement.
A temporary accommodation center was reportedly organized for residents of the southern part of Neya. It can accommodate up to 1,200 people, and overnight accommodation is also available.
The Russians also acknowledged that the fire occurred on the territory of a military facility, but traditionally did not name it. It is also reported that the explosions shattered windows in at least several houses.
The SSU also confirmed that Alpha drones also hit an oil depot at night, which is located in the village of Streletski Khutory (Streletski Khutor), near the city of Usman, Lipetsk region.
This tank farm supplied oil products to three regions: Tambov, Voronezh, and Lipetsk.
