The Armed Forces of the Republic of Korea have signed a contract with the Polish WB Group to purchase Warmate 3 kamikaze drones.
The WB Group press service reported on this.
The Dziennik zbrojny publication details that South Korea has purchased ten sets of almost two hundred attack drones in both combat and training versions.
The contract is estimated to be worth about $10.85 million, with deliveries to begin this year and continue through next year.
The agreement was signed at the KADEX International Defense Exhibition, with Piotr Wojciechowski, President of the WB Group, and Wang Jung-hong, CEO of DAPA, signing the contract.
Representatives of the Ministries of Defense of Poland and South Korea attended the ceremony. The Polish side was represented by Paweł Bejda.
On September 10, Militarnyi reported on the intentions of the South Korean army to purchase Polish kamikaze drones.
Warmate 3 was developed based on the experience of operating previous models in the combat zone.
The drone’s operational range is 30 kilometers, and communication with the operator can be maintained at a distance of up to 80 kilometers.
The flight duration is 70 minutes, and the engine generates a small amount of noise and can be turned on and off during the flight.
In addition, the drone’s maneuverability was improved by integrating additional aerodynamic surfaces.
Warmate 3 can carry a warhead weighing up to three kilograms.
