Satellite imagery has confirmed a strike by Unmanned Systems Forces drones on a Russian ammunition depot in temporarily occupied Crimea in early January 2026.
Analysts from the Dnipro OSINT project, who published the corresponding images, reported on this.
The images show damage to three buildings near the settlement of Mizhhirya that were used to store artillery ammunition for Russian invasion forces.
One of the buildings sustained more damage than the others, which were also hit.
At the same time, it remains unclear what type of ammunition was stored there and in what quantities, as secondary explosions did not destroy the buildings.
It is possible the facilities were being used for other purposes, or that only limited amounts of ammunition were present at the time of the strike.
Robert “Magyar” Brovdi, commander of the USF, reported the strike on the Russian artillery depot near the village of Mizhhirya on January 7.
He noted that the strikes were performed to reduce the operational activity of Russian invasion forces.
Overall, units of the Unmanned Systems Forces carried out a series of strikes on 21 targets deep inside the Russian Federation and in temporarily occupied territories between January 2 and January 7.
Last week, Ukrainian SOF units used drones to strike a Russian train carrying fuel at the loading ramp of the Gvardiyske oil depot in temporarily occupied Crimea.
The strike was intended to disrupt fuel and lubricant supplies to units of Russia’s Dnipro group of forces.
Domestically produced FP-2 kamikaze drones with a high-explosive warhead were used in the attack.
