Explosions sounded in the temporarily occupied Sevastopol on the night of April 24.
The occupation authorities of the city reported on the incident, referring to it as a “surface drone attack”.
Eyewitnesses posted on social media that explosions had been heard in the city during the night.
The so-called “governor” of Sevastopol, Mikhail Razvozhayev, reported that the Russian fleet was repelling an attack by surface drones on the outer raid of Sevastopol.
Later, he said that one drone had allegedly been destroyed by forces of anti-submarine/sabotage defense, and the second had allegedly exploded on its own. According to him, the drone attack began at 3:30 a.m. local time.
Subsequently, local residents published a video of the moment of one explosion in Sevastopol Bay on social networks. The occupation authorities claim that no objects were allegedly damaged as a result of the attack.
As of Monday morning, passenger sea transport in Sevastopol is not operating.
Previously, the Russians reported an attack by surface drones on March 22. At that time, it was stated that three surface drones had been trying to enter the Sevastopol Bay.
The video shows naval drones entering the bay where the base of the Russian Black Sea Fleet is located.
The Ukrainian military command does not comment on the events on the territory of the temporarily occupied Crimean peninsula.
Currently, a fleet of marine unmanned vehicles is being built in Ukraine, which should protect the waters of the Ukrainian seas and prevent Russian warships from active operations. Recently, a new version of the Ukrainian military surface drone was showcased. Presumably, the drones have a warhead and will be used as strikes against Russian naval targets.
