A Russian Mi-8 military helicopter crashed in the Voronezh region.
The crash occurred in the Anninsky District of the region, according to the 112 Telegram channel.
According to its data, all three crew members were killed: the commander, navigator, and flight engineer.
Information about the crash and the deaths of the crew was also confirmed by the Russian Telegram channels Ya i drug moy vertolyot and Voevoda Veshchaet.
The exact modification of the lost Mi-8 remains unknown.
Units of the 549th Army Aviation Regiment (military unit 12628), which operates Mi-8 helicopters, are stationed in the vicinity of Voronezh and at nearby airfields.
In addition, army aviation in the region is regularly operated by the 15th Army Aviation Brigade of the Russian Aerospace Forces, as well as aviation units of the Russian National Guard Forces and the FSB Border Service based at the Baltimore air base.
The 549th Separate Helicopter Regiment and units of the 15th Army Aviation Brigade of the Russian Aerospace Forces operate Mi-8MTV-5 and Mi-8AMTSh transport-combat variants, as well as older Mi-8MT and Mi-8MTV-1 versions.
In addition, Mi-8MTPR-1 electronic warfare helicopters are based at the Baltimore air base.
The aviation units of the Russian National Guard Forces and FSB Border Service stationed in the region operate Mi-8AMT and Mi-8MTV-1 transport and patrol versions.
On September 2, a Russian Mi-8 military transport helicopter made an emergency landing on a highway in Sakhalin and rolled into a ditch.
The incident was caused by both engines shutting down due to fuel exhaustion 5 km from the airfield.
