Russia is purchasing millions of ammunition rounds from North Korea (DPRK). This includes artillery rounds and short-range missiles.
The New York Times reports about this with reference to American intelligence.
The US government assesses that these actions of Russia point to the effectiveness of sanctions imposed against the aggressor state since now the Russian Federation is forced to rely only on the rogue countries for cooperation.
It was previously reported that, according to the Ukrainian General Staff, Russia spends 50000-60000 rounds of ammunition daily during hostilities in Ukraine.
When assessing the agreement with the DPRK, an American official claimed that this is a sign that Russia is unable to produce even the simplest military products in sufficient quantities.
US intelligence recorded the Russian attempts to purchase weapons from the DPRK only a few days after the Iranian drones were delivered to Russia. U.S. officials said that a part of the Iranian UAVs had mechanical damage.
The United States believes that Russia has acquired Iran`s Mohajer-6, Shahed-129, and Shahed-191 UAVs.
The Washington Post reports that on the other side, China has so far observed the sanction restrictions imposed on Russia and does not assist it in restoring its military capabilities. Gina Raimondo, US Secretary of Commerce, has repeatedly warned the PRC that in the event of attempting to sell chips to Russia by Semiconductor Manufacturing International Corporation or others, America will block access to its technologies and effectively close these enterprises.
Meanwhile, Conflict Armament Research has released a report which clearly states that the Russian cruise missiles, MLRS guided missiles, and even attack helicopters are made using the same electronics. It is produced and supplied to Russia by several foreign companies.
