Rheinmetall has expanded its production facility for the assembly, testing and production of warheads for HERO loitering munitions at RWM Italia plants in Musei and Domusnovas (Sardegna).

The partner is Israeli UVision Air, Rheinmetall reports on its official website.

Electronic and inertial components are assembled in the Musei, while combat units are manufactured and integrated in Domusnas.

The product line includes HERO 30 (anti-personnel), HERO 120 (anti-tank), and HERO 400 (anti-fortification).

The order book exceeds €200 million, with deliveries planned for 8 European countries, including NATO and non-aligned countries.

Separately, Rheinmetall produces reconnaissance drones, including LUNA NG. In 2024, UAV sales amounted to €120 million.

On October 3rd, the United States Army signed a multi-year contract for the supply of HERO 120 loitering munitions to equip infantry units.
