Another round of the prisoners of war exchange was completed.
This was announced by Iryna Vereshchuk, Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine.
She noted that this time, 41 people are returning home.
“28 military and 13 civilians are returning home. It is especially gratifying that today the priest of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine is among those that were released,” she said.
The previous prisoners of war exchange took place on April 28th. 45 Ukrainians have returned from captivity.
On April 19th, Ukrainian authorities completed the fifth exchange, rescuing 76 Ukrainians.
60 of them were military personnel of the Armed Forces and the rest were civilians. On April 21st, Ukraine exchanged prisoners of war, rescuing 19 Ukrainians.
On April 14th, the Ukrainian authorities carried out a fourth 30-for-30 prisoner of war exchange.
On April 1st, Ukraine exchanged 86 Russian servicemen for Ukrainian prisoners of war, returning, in particular, 15 women.
On March 24th, Ukrainian authorities completed a ten-for-ten exchange of prisoners of war.
