Powerful Explosions with Detonation Rock Occupied Khartsyzk

Several powerful explosions were reported in the temporarily occupied city of Khartsyzk, located in Ukraine’s Donetsk region.

Local residents shared footage showing the moment of impact, followed by a massive detonation.

Preliminary reports suggest that Ukrainian forces may have targeted a Russian ammunition depot in the area.

According to OSINT analysts from the CyberBoroshno group, the strike targeted an industrial storage facility.

“The site was marked as an ‘abandoned industrial explosives storage facility.’ A Tor air defense system covered it — but that didn’t seem to help,” the analysts noted.

As of now, there has been no official confirmation of the strike from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. However, the explosions point to yet another successful attack on enemy rear positions.

Khartsyzk is located near Makiyivka and Donetsk and holds significant strategic importance for Russian forces.

Back on April 13, 2014, the city fell under the control of pro-Russian militants and has since been actively used by Russian forces as a rear base.

Since the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion, Khartsyzk has been used to host command posts, logistics hubs, and ammunition depots.

This is not the first strike on Russian-occupied facilities in the city. This January, the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported a successful hit on a Russian army command post in Khartsyzk.

Back in 2022, an ammunition depot also exploded in the city, which was already under Russian occupation at the time.
