A Polish company has presented a new unmanned aerial vehicle called PLargonia.
The report comes from Militarnyi correspondents at the MSPO international defense exhibition in Poland.
The drone features a delta-shaped design and is intended for both training and combat missions.
In its AT version, the drone is used to simulate air targets, train air defense operators, and stage combat scenarios. The OWA strike version can carry a warhead. Its delta wing and compact size allow it to function as a loitering munition.
PLargonia is powered by a 342i B4 TS piston engine producing 32 horsepower, with a rear-mounted propeller.
The aircraft has a wingspan of 2.2 meters and a length of 2.6 meters. Its maximum takeoff weight is 85 kilograms, enabling it to carry a 16-20 kg payload in the OWA version.
The drone has a cruising speed of 185 km/h and a maximum range of up to 900 km.
Its design allows launches from ground platforms without the need for airfield infrastructure.
Delta-wing drones are gaining popularity among manufacturers worldwide.
For example, on August 17, U.S. company Griffon Aerospace announced the completion of development of its MQM-172 Arrowhead multi-role drone.
The company said the Arrowhead’s modular design supports a wide range of applications. It has a cargo bay capable of carrying up to 45 kg, allowing integration of sensors or warheads depending on the mission.
