Polish company Eycore is preparing to launch its first SAR satellite, Eycore-1.

The launch of the satellite into Earth orbit is scheduled for the end of April, according to Space24.

The mission is based on a synthetic aperture radar (SAR) developed and built in Poland, which operates in the X-band. The system has been fully integrated with the Kongsberg NanoAvionics platform, which has extensive experience in commercial orbital projects.

The radar has already passed all the necessary qualification tests and is ready for operation.

The satellite will be delivered to low Earth orbit using SpaceX’s Falcon 9 launch vehicle.

The implementation of the project will enable Eycore to become the second private European company to own a satellite with SAR technology. This technology allows observation of the Earth’s surface regardless of cloud cover or time of day.

Eycore

Eycore is a subsidiary of Advanced Protection Systems (APS), a well-known manufacturer of anti-drone systems. APS technologies are already actively used in combat conditions, particularly in Ukraine and the Middle East. The parent company’s experience in the field of defense solutions has become an important basis for the development of the SAR satellite.
