The Polish Arms Agency has signed a framework agreement with WB Group manufacturers to supply Warmate loitering munitions to the national army.
Defence24 reported on this.
The agreement provides for the supply of about a thousand sets of drones and about 10,000 rounds of ammunition by 2035.
Defense Minister Vladyslav Kosinyak-Kamysh, who was present at the signing, said that a number of additional executive agreements would be signed in the near future.
He also emphasized that this step resulted from the work of the Military Inspectorate for Drones, just five months after its creation.
In October 2024, it was reported that the South Korean Armed Forces signed a contract with the Polish group of companies WB Group to supply Warmate 3 kamikaze drones.
According to available information, South Korea has purchased ten sets, including almost two hundred attack drones in combat and training versions.
The contract is worth approximately $10.85 million. Delivery began in 2024 and will continue through 2025.
It is unclear which version the Polish army is purchasing, but it can be assumed that it is the Warmate 3, which was developed based on the experience of operating previous models in the combat zone. In addition, there may be a comprehensive procurement together with the TL version.
The drone’s operational range is 30 kilometers, and communication with the operator can be maintained at a distance of up to 80 kilometers.
The flight duration is 70 minutes, the engine generates a small amount of noise, and it can be turned off and on during the flight.
In addition, the drone’s maneuverability has been improved by integrating additional aerodynamic surfaces. Warmate 3 can carry a warhead weighing up to three kilograms.
