Poland transferred over two hundred T-72 tanks and infantry fighting vehicles to Ukraine.
“Radio Poland” informed about the transfer of armored vehicles and other weapons.
The transferred Polish tanks would be able to equip two tank brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
It is reported that in addition to tanks, several dozen infantry fighting vehicles were shipped to Ukraine.
According to Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki speaking on the topic of military aid to Ukraine, Warsaw has already supplied Kyiv with military equipment worth 7 billion zlotys (approximately $1.59 billion). This includes both the equipment and weapons.
The weapons that Ukraine has received from Poland include 2S1 Gvozdika self-propelled howitzers and Grad rocket launchers.
Poland has also provided air-to-air missiles for MiG-29 and Su-27 fighter aircraft.
In addition to heavy equipment, drones manufactured by the Polish company WB Electronics were also transferred. Among other assignments, they are being used for reconnaissance activities.
Poland is also providing Ukraine with a large amount of ammunition for a variety of weapons.
Previously, the United Kingdom promised to supply Poland with the Challenger 2 tanks if Poland sends its T-72 tanks to Ukraine.
The tanks would be relocated for a limited time period and would be “managed by the British personnel”.
