The Polish Air Navigation Services Agency (PANSA) has extended until March 9, 2026 the restrictions on the use of part of the airspace along Poland’s border with Ukraine and Belarus.
The decision was made at the request of the Operational Command of the Armed Forces, the agency’s website reported.
The restrictions were introduced to ensure Poland’s security. They are applied under a regulation of the Minister of Infrastructure from January 18, 2019, which allows such measures to be imposed for up to three months at a time.
The restrictions do not affect passenger aviation, as the limitation is set at FL095 – from ground level up to roughly three kilometers. Depending on the section, the restricted zone extends 26 to 50 km into Polish territory.
For general aviation, daytime flights are allowed if a flight plan is filed and the aircraft is equipped with a radio and a transponder. Night flights are prohibited.
Military aircraft can operate with special flight statuses, while civilian drones are allowed to fly only during the day and must not enter the ADIZ (Air Defense Identification Zone) of Ukraine or Belarus.
As a reminder, Poland restricted air traffic along the border with Ukraine and Belarus following the Russian drone attacks.
