Russian aviation used a record 5,717 air bombs against Ukraine in January 2026.

The Oko Gora + News and Analytics Telegram channel reported on this.

According to calculations, Russian forces dropped 26% more bombs in January than in December 2025.

Statistics confirm that the total of 5,717 air bombs is the highest monthly figure since the start of the full-scale invasion.

From January 1 to 31, they averaged 184 bombs per day.

The previous monthly peaks were in October 2025 (5,328 units) and April 2025 (5,272 units).

Russian forces are increasingly using precision-guided bombs and testing new propulsion systems. On October 25, 2025, they attacked the city of Kamianske in the Dnipro region with UMPK/Grom-type jet-powered guided bombs (KABs).

During the attack, monitoring resources recorded three jet-propelled KABs approaching the city at high speed. Explosions followed, and local reports noted a column of smoke.

Kamianske had not previously been hit by such aircraft, as it is located more than 120 km from the front line.
