Ukraine’s Ministry of Defense has codified the new Kolibri-i10 interceptor drone developed by Ukrainian company TAF Industries.
The company said the interceptor is designed to destroy Russian reconnaissance and strike drones, including Molniya, Orlan and Zala UAVs.
It is intended to supplement Ukraine’s air defense system and protect Ukrainian positions and facilities in frontline areas and the rear.
The Kolibri-i10 was developed based on experience using the Kolibri 10 FPV drone to intercept Russian UAVs.
Based on combat experience, the developers created a specialized interceptor featuring a new design.
“This is an example of how a technological need quickly went from testing to serial production thanks to continuous cooperation with Ukraine’s Defense Forces personnel and the flexibility of our engineering team. Field tests have already confirmed the interceptor’s effectiveness, so we have already begun scaling up its production,” said Volodymyr Zinovskyi, CEO of TAF Industries.
The Kolibri-i10 interceptor drone features a reinforced frame, more powerful motors, a more reliable camera mount and high-speed propellers. The developers also improved its aerodynamics.
The drone has a maximum speed of more than 200 km/h, a range of up to 25 km and an endurance of more than 20 minutes. The interceptor can shoot down Russian UAVs at altitudes of up to 3,000 meters.
The drone is equipped with digital day and night cameras that allow it to operate in various conditions. Manual control allows the operator to take full control during critical moments.
MilELRS firmware is used to counter Russian electronic warfare systems.
Recently, a pilot from the 4th Rubizh Battalion intercepted a Russian Orlan reconnaissance UAV at an altitude of 3,285 meters using a Kolibri FPV interceptor drone developed by TAF Industries.
