On January 6, the Coalition of the Willing to Decide on Deployment of Multinational Forces in Ukraine

Today, January 6, a meeting of the Coalition of the Willing will be held in Paris, where the leaders of the participating countries are expected to make commitments to support Ukraine on five key issues.

One of these issues is the deployment of multinational armed forces on Ukrainian territory, European Pravda reports.

The Élysée Palace representative announced the meeting, stating that the main goal is to define the coalition’s potential actions and coordinate them with the United States.

The list of points includes a ceasefire and monitoring its compliance, support for the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and the format for deploying multinational forces. It also covers commitments from allies in the event of renewed Russian aggression and long-term defense cooperation.

A representative of the French administration stated that Western troops would not be stationed along the frontline. He explained this by the 1,400 km length of the frontline and the lack of tactical and strategic sense in such a presence.

Instead, the plan involves using technical means for monitoring – drones, satellites, and other technologies. An important task will be coordinating joint actions among the U.S., European countries, and Ukraine in the event of a ceasefire violation.

As part of the security guarantees, two additional areas are under consideration: long-term support for the Armed Forces of Ukraine to prevent future attacks, and the deployment of multinational forces to assist Ukraine on land, in the air, and at sea, including training and rebuilding Ukrainian troops.
