A large fire broke out in temporarily occupied Luhansk after the Ukrainian Defense Forces struck an oil depot.

The Exilenova+ Telegram channel reported the incident and shared video footage from the scene.

The attack, likely carried out by drones, occurred shortly after midnight on February 27. Residents said they heard several explosions across the city.

Photos and videos show intense flames and a column of black smoke rising high into the sky, visible from a distance.

Local online communities also reported power outages in parts of the city overnight.

It later became known that the oil depot used by the invaders was attacked by drones from the 1st Separate Center of the Unmanned Systems Forces.

“Less fuel means fewer opportunities for maneuvers, rotations, and support for assault operations,” the military said.

The previous strike on the oil depot in Russian-occupied Luhansk took place on February 22. At that time, a large fire also broke out at the facility.

It is a key logistics hub through which Russian occupation forces supply fuel to offensive groups in the Kupiansk and Kramatorsk directions.

This oil depot has been attacked several times, including with ATACMS tactical ballistic missiles. One such strike took place on May 7, 2024.
