An oil depot caught fire in Feodosia in the temporarily occupied Crimea on the night of October 7.

Telegram channels reported this and published videos by eyewitnesses among locals.

The cause of the fire has not been officially announced, but earlier the network wrote about a drone attack on the occupied Crimea.

According to the pro-Ukrainian Crimean Wind Telegram channel, the fire occurred after several powerful explosions that occurred around 04:30 a.m. in Feodosia.

Later, the ASTRA telegram channel clarified that the oil depot burning in Feodosia is the Marine Oil Terminal JSC, which is the largest in occupied Crimea in terms of oil product transshipment.

The so-called “authorities” of the city later confirmed the information, but according to their version, there was a “fire”, the cause of which was not disclosed.

“The fire occurred at the Feodosia oil depot, the Ministry of Emergency Situations is working, there are no casualties or injuries,” the occupation “administration” of Feodosia said in a statement.

Around 7 a.m., due to the fire at the oil depot, traffic was blocked on Heolohichna Street and Fedko Street from the intersection with the Kerch highway to the bus station.

Locals report on social media that a powerful fire at the oil depot in Feodosia can be seen from a distance of 25 kilometers.

It is noted that the oil refining terminal, which is located in the eastern part of Feodosia, near the village of Berehove, is the largest facility of its kind in Crimea. The volume of its storage tanks is 250 thousand cubic meters. There are only two such terminals on the peninsula, and another one is located in the temporarily occupied Sevastopol.

At the same time, the terminal has already been attacked by attack drones in March 2024. At that time, four drones hit the territory of JSC Marine Oil Terminal at once. As a result, the main fuel pumping pipeline was damaged and a fire broke out.

In addition, the same oil depot had already been attacked in December and November last year.
