Norwegian company Radionor Communications, a manufacturer of electronic warfare-resistant communications systems, including for unmanned aerial vehicles, will open a branch in Ukraine.
The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine announced this.
Valeriy Churkin, Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine, held talks on developing cooperation with company representatives.
Radionor Communications CEO Raymond Söderholm led the Norwegian delegation at the meeting.
The Ministry of Defense noted that this company is a long-standing supplier of communication technologies resistant to electronic warfare for the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
During the meeting, the parties discussed new challenges in the use of drones on the front lines and ways to overcome them.
They also discussed the prospects for creating a Radionor product service center in Ukraine.
“The need for radio-electronic warfare-resistant communication technologies, especially in unmanned operations in Ukraine, is acute. Together with our Ukrainian partners and with the support of the Norwegian government, we look forward to delivering more units,” Raymond Söderholm stated.
He said that their goal is to improve the capabilities of unmanned aerial vehicles and assist the Ukrainian military in training their use.
“The presence of the company’s representative office in Ukraine will simplify the maintenance of its products, enable professional training of Ukrainian military personnel, and thus maximize the effectiveness of these weapons,” Valeriy Churkin reported.
Radionor Communications was founded in 2000. It has developed next-generation phased array antenna technology for long-range wireless communications and high-precision localization.
The company supplies its highly specialized products for military and civilian needs. Its equipment is installed on unmanned aerial vehicles, ships, and ground vehicles.
