France and Norway will provide Ukraine with French-made guided aerial bombs as part of a new defense agreement.
The Ukrainian side already uses such weapons and has previously requested additional supplies, according to the Norwegian Ministry of Defense.
This likely refers to the AASM Hammer, which the Ukrainian Air Force actively uses on the front lines.
Norway will allocate approximately €365 million to implement this support. These funds will be the country’s first contribution under the new agreements between the states.
France will additionally guarantee a loan of approximately €260 million.
In addition to aviation weapons, the agreement provides for the development of surveillance capabilities. The partners also plan to provide the Ukrainian army with tools to improve situational awareness.
“These projects reflect Ukraine’s most pressing priorities and will have a rapid effect,” said Norwegian Defense Minister Tore Sandvik.
