Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council Oleksii Danilov call on international partners with a request to protect the sky over Ukraine from Russian missile strikes and air raids.

According to him, it depends on the rapid supply of these types of weapons “whether Russia will continue to kill our children and women, our parents and the elderly.”

“If NATO does not want or is unable to “close the sky” over Ukraine, we will close it ourselves, give us weapons, if your weapons are in the covers,” Danilov said sharply.

As of March 7, Russia has launched 625 cruise and ballistic missiles of various types in Ukraine. Despite Russian propaganda claims, most of them strike civilian facilities and infrastructure rather than military ones.

Ukraine expects NATO to supply both air defense systems and MіG-29 jet fighter aircrafts, which are in service with Poland and Slovakia.

The United States is expected to reach an agreement to compensate the Polish Armed Forces for lost aircraft at the expense of American aircraft.
