Nighttime Explosions in Yaroslavl Possibly Linked to Oil Refinery Attack

On the night of January 6, the facilities of the Yaroslavl Oil Refinery may have been hit in Yaroslavl.

A series of explosions were reported by local residents in regional Telegram channels and city chats. In particular, the Exilenova+ Telegram channel also reported a possible attack.

After that, an air danger regime was declared due to the use of drones, which was confirmed by reports in local resources.

According to them, the sounds of explosions were recorded in the area where the refinery was located.

Eyewitnesses also reported the operation of air defense systems and characteristic flashes in the sky.

At the time of publication, official Russian authorities did not provide a clear explanation of the causes of the explosions.

Novo-Yaroslavsky Oil Refinery (Yaroslavnefteorgsintez, YANOS, Slavneft-YANO)
