New Zealand-based Syos Aerospace will supply Ukraine with drones valued at more than $40 million, according to The Post.
The deal was announced by UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer.
Syos Aerospace manufactures a range of unmanned systems, including aerial drones, ground robotic vehicles, and surface drones.
Its flagship model is the SA200 unmanned helicopter, capable of carrying a 200-kg payload and operating for up to two hours.
With an additional long-range fuel tank, the SA200 can perform intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) or electronic warfare (EW) missions with a range of nearly 1,000 kilometers and over eight hours of flight time.
The company’s SM300 surface drone can carry up to 300 kg and has a range of 650 miles. Syos offers system customization, including integration of various mission-specific modules.
The drone is equipped with AI-enabled mission planning and the capability for swarm operations.
Among Syos’ land-based systems is the SG400 UGV, described on the company’s website as a cost-effective, durable autonomous ground vehicle with a 6×6 drive and optional tracked modules.
It can carry payloads up to 500 kg and travel up to 230 kilometers.
It is unclear which specific drone models are included in the contract. The company’s British division is expected to handle the delivery.
Syos maintains a production facility in Fareham, Hampshire.
