Law enforcement agencies of the new government of Syria discovered a warehouse with FPV drones.

The Syrian news agency Sana reported that the drones were found in the city of Qardaha.

The Assad Mausoleum was located in this city during the reign of the Assad dynasty.

Presumably, the drones belonged to Bashar al-Assad’s forces or the Russian military.

“After a meeting with prominent figures and members of the Civil Peace Committee in Qardaha, the ministry announced that residents of the city had handed over the old regime’s FPV kamikaze drones to the Public Security Directorate,” the statement said.

The use of FPV drones in Syria became widespread only in the last years of the civil war.

Kurdish forces used FPVs to destroy Turkish military equipment in northern Syria.

Israeli forces in Lebanon have also recently begun using FPV drones against the Hezbollah terrorist group.

FPV drones are a type of drone that is controlled using the “first-person view” function (the English acronym stands for First Person View).

They are used to strike at the enemy and to gather intelligence on enemy positions, movements, fortifications, and other important information.

FPV drones have changed the nature of combat operations, making them more dynamic and dangerous.

For these purposes, commercial Chinese drones are often used, which are converted for military purposes.
