Naval drones attacked the Russian reconnaissance vessel Priazovye

Ukrainian naval drones of an unknown type attacked the Russian SIGINT vessel Priazovye, 300 kilometers southeast of Sevastopol.

Russian Ministry of Defense reported this.

“Today, at about 1:30 am Moscow time, the Armed Forces of Ukraine made an unsuccessful attempt to attack the Priazovye vessel of the Black Sea Fleet, which was carrying out the task of monitoring the situation and ensuring security along the routes of the Turkish Stream and Blue Stream gas pipelines in the southeastern part of the Black Sea,” the statement reads.

The Russians claim that during the Ukrainian drone attack, the Russian Priazovye Black Sea Fleet reconnaissance ship did not suffer damage, destroying the drones with the ship’s weapons.

According to the Russians, the American RQ-4B Global Hawk high-altitude reconnaissance drone conducted the reconnaissance of the area of attack on the Priazovye ship took place.

“During this period, much like during previous such attacks, an RQ-4B Global Hawk strategic reconnaissance unmanned aerial vehicle of the U.S. Air Force was conducting a reconnaissance mission in the airspace of the central part of Black Sea,” the Russian MoD claims.

New Ukrainian kamikaze drones of an indeterminate type attacked the Russian ship, one of which was called “Cat and Raccoon.”

The new kamikaze drones visually differ from those that attacked the bay in Sevastopol and the Ivan Khurs reconnaissance ship.

The performance characteristics of the latest drones are unknown.

Priazovye is a Soviet Project 864 reconnaissance ship. The full displacement of the ship is 3396 tons.

The length of the vessel is 94.4 meters, its width is 16.6 meters, and it has a 4.5-meter residue. It is armed with two AK-630 fully automatic naval rotary cannon close-in weapon systems.

The Russian Ivan Khurs reconnaissance ship was attacked in a similar way in May this year.
