Ukrainian servicemen will join the British Armed Forces in a military parade in London dedicated to the 80th anniversary of Victory in Europe Day.

This was reported by Reuters.

The Ukrainian military, along with 1,000 British troops, including soldiers on horseback and military bands, will take part in the parade.

In general, a number of events are planned in the country to mark the anniversary, including a military parade and an air show, which will end with a solemn thanksgiving service on Thursday at Westminster Abbey in London with the participation of the royal family.

The military from Australia, Canada and New Zealand will also take part in the procession, carrying the flags of their countries, as well as the flags of all Commonwealth countries.

“In the midst of Europe’s first full-scale war since World War II, it is fitting that the Armed Forces of Ukraine, now fighting on the front lines of freedom, are represented at Monday’s event,” said John Healey, the UK Secretary of State for Defense.

It should be noted that unlike in the post-Soviet countries, where Victory Day is celebrated on May 9, in countries such as the United Kingdom, France and the United States, this day is celebrated on May 8.

According to Reuters, 101-year-old veteran Jack Mortimer will also take part in the parade and watch the military procession.

Earlier, Militarnyi reported that the US President plans to organize a military parade in Washington on his 79th birthday.

The parade is scheduled to take place on June 14 on the streets of Washington, DC. A significant number of military personnel and equipment will be involved in the event.

It is expected that the parade route will be about 7 kilometers long – from the Pentagon in Arlington, Virginia, to the White House.

In addition, the parade will be timed to coincide with the 250th anniversary of the U.S. Army, which, according to one official, is planned to be celebrated on a special scale.
