NATO, according to a politician of the unrecognized “Pridnestrovian Moldovan Republic” (PMR), allegedly has a plan to seize the unrecognized country by force.
This was stated by a deputy of the so-called PMR, Andrei Safonov, in an interview with Russian media.
According to him, one of the elements of this plan could be the abolition of Moldova’s neutral status, which would create the basis for the deployment of Western and Romanian military contingents to its territory.
Safonov also said that the West allegedly has other intentions regarding Pridnestrovie: “to surround Transnistria and force it to surrender.”
“The entry of Romanian and NATO troops into Moldova puts an end to any negotiations on the settlement of the Moldovan-Transnistrian conflict, as it will de facto mean a war between NATO and Russia, whose troops are stationed on Transnistrian land. So let the former Moldavian SSR remain a territory of peace. The military alternative will bring only grief to everyone,” Safonov emphasized.
On April 8, the Moldovan Ministry of Defense announced a five-day military training camp.
The main goal is to test the skills of Moldovan reservists.
On June 14, it was reported that the Moldovan and Romanian militaries conducted joint training on forcing water obstacles as part of the Saber Guardian 2025 international exercises.
In total, about 5,000 military personnel from four countries are involved in the maneuvers.
Later, on June 21, Militarnyi reported that Ukrainian marines joined the Sea Breeze 2025 multinational exercise.
For several days, instructors from Ukraine conducted intensive training for foreign units.
Participants noted that this experience was not only valuable but also practical, as Ukrainian instructors passed on the knowledge gained in real-world combat.
