Russian troops conducted an unsuccessful assault in the Kharkiv region to advance to the village of Lyptsi involving a significant number of tanks.
The press service of the 13th Khartiia Brigade of the National Guard of Ukraine shared with Militarnyi that the offensive began on August 13 at 6 am.
The Russian command deployed assault units in the direction of Lyptsi and Hlyboke.
“The Khartiia men timely detected and confidently fought off the assault, inflicting heavy losses on the enemy,” the Brigade shared.
The enemy’s tank attack consisted of two columns of six tanks each, covered with massive protection against drone strikes.
Each tank carried 8-10 infantrymen. The first convoy of six tanks moved to the Khartiia’s positions.
“The invaders failed to reach the front line of our defense. The brigade’s soldiers inflicted a powerful strike with all available weapons, stopped and broke the column,” the soldiers reported on the battle.
As a result, the destroyed four Russians tanks from the column and damaged another tank.
“Ten invaders were killed, and 30 more were wounded. The FPV operators of the Khartiia Brigade destroyed some of the tanks,” the Brigade noted.
The second column, consisting of six tanks, moved in the direction of Hlyboke. There, Ukrainian soldiers from the 92nd Separate Assault Brigade took up the fight.
The village of Lyptsi in Kharkiv region is of great importance to the Russian invaders. The heights in Lyptsi would allow the Russian invaders to control a large area.
In June, in the Kharkiv region, the Defense Forces drove Russian invaders out of their positions on the southern outskirts of Hlyboke village.
