The Kazakh Air Assault Forces have set up their own FPV drone production.
The Ministry of Defense of Kazakhstan reported that the paratroopers handle the entire production process – from assembly and calibration to testing and delivery of the UAVs to the units that operate them.
The workshop for manufacturing and repairing unmanned aerial vehicles began operations in December 2025. It is staffed by contract service members who have undergone specialized training.
“The 100th drone was recently assembled here. All products undergo mandatory quality control tests and are then delivered to military units,” the ministry said.
Officials explain that establishing in-house assembly and repair of drones has significantly reduced dependence on external supplies.
Units of unmanned aerial systems were formed within the Kazakh Air Assault Forces two years ago. During this time, service members have mastered the practical use of drones.
In 2026, training for unmanned aerial system operators will begin at the training center of the Air Assault Forces.
The training will be conducted by instructors with specialized qualifications and hands-on experience operating various types of UAVs.
Currently, the Kazakh Air Assault Forces are equipped with tactical unmanned aerial systems of both domestic and foreign production. Work is also ongoing to further master, modernize, and develop these systems.
At the same time, personnel are being trained to counter UAVs. Last summer, the Kazakh Ground Forces launched a program to train instructors who will teach service members how to shoot down drones using small arms.
For this purpose, specialized infrastructure was created to simulate combat conditions involving the use of drones.
