After several months of ceasefire, Israel and Hamas are preparing for the potential renewal of full-scale fighting in Gaza.

The New York Post reported on this.

According to the media, Israel has already developed a plan for a ground operation in the Gaza Strip, specifically in Gaza City, with the operation expected to begin in March.

The military command aims to expand the area of control beyond the so-called “yellow line” of demarcation, which currently covers about 53% of the enclave’s territory.

Additionally, as part of the preparations, Israel has restricted access for some humanitarian organizations to the Gaza Strip, which may lead to certain missions suspending their operations.

The implementation of these plans directly depends on the position of the Donald Trump administration, which previously initiated the creation of a special “Peace Council” to resolve the conflict.

The American side insists on the second stage of the peace plan, which involves the complete disarmament of Hamas.

Amid these events, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu emphasized that Israel will not make further political concessions without real guarantees for the dismantling of Hamas’ military infrastructure.

Meanwhile, the group is restoring its own facilities—tunnels, warehouses, and weapons—partly with external material support. Israel, in turn, argues that a political resolution remains impossible until Hamas agrees to effective disarmament guarantees.

Militarnyi previously reported that representatives of the Hamas movement officially informed U.S. Special Representative Steven Vitkof and U.S. President’s son-in-law Jared Kushner about the termination of the current ceasefire agreement.

Additionally, militants have declared their readiness for a new phase of the conflict if Israel fails to meet their demands for the withdrawal of forces and ensuring the rights of the population.

As early as November 2025, a new militia was formed in the Gaza Strip under the leadership of former Palestinian security officer Shuki Abu-Natir. This formation operates in the eastern part of Khan Yunis, which is currently controlled by Israeli forces.
