An Iranian missile attack on southern Israel has damaged critical infrastructure, causing a widespread power cut across the region.

The Israeli Ministry of Energy reported the incident.

Currently, over 8,000 buildings in southern Israel remain without electricity due to ballistic missiles striking the area’s energy facilities.

According to Israeli media, during today’s attack, Iran launched seven ballistic missiles, all of which were successfully intercepted.

Meanwhile, power cuts are also being reported in Iran’s capital, Tehran, which has been under constant Israeli air strikes since the morning of June 23.

The strikes target the country’s military infrastructure with the aim of disabling key facilities related both to potential nuclear weapons production and ballistic missile capabilities.

It is worth noting that due to the lack of an effective air defense system, Israel is able to conduct flights over Iranian territory with almost no resistance, striking both neutralized air defense positions and military targets, including airfields.

Militarnyi previously reported that Israel had destroyed an active Iranian combat aircraft for the first time — an F-5 fighter jet had been shot down while preparing for a combat sortie.
