Serhii Haidai, Head of the Luhansk Regional Military Administration, spoke about the situation in Lysychansk. He reported that the enemy is trying to gain a foothold in the city and is brutally shelling it.

Haidai reported significant destruction in Lysychansk.

“[Russian] invaders have possibly deployed all their forces to Lysychansk. They attacked the city using inexplicably brutal tactics. In Sievierodonetsk, after a month of street fighting, some houses and administrative buildings still remained intact. Meanwhile, in Lysychansk, these administrative buildings were completely destroyed in a very short time,” he said.

He added that the enemy is using a lot of weapons and manpower to attack Lysychansk.

“There are many Russians and they are using many weapons. This is true despite the fact that several enemy ammunition depots were destroyed. According to regional authorities, Russian invaders suffer significant losses but keep advancing. They are gaining a foothold in the city, as well as in Verkhniokamianka, and continue to ruin settlements,” Serhii Haidai said.

Despite the active fighting, the rescuers are trying to eliminate fires caused by shelling. Thus, over the past day, they managed to put out the fire in the multi-story building and detached houses, a store, and one shopping center.

The injured woman was hospitalized in the Dnipropetrovsk Region Hospital.

Zolotarivka and Bilohorivka were also damaged by the invader shelling.

Defense Forces are holding positions and repelling enemy attacks in the city area.

The General Staff reported that the enemy’s forces were concentrated in this direction. The invaders were trying to conduct offensive actions in the area of Bilohorivka.

“We were not successful, and were forced to withdraw,” the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine said in a statement.
