In the Donetsk region, the soldiers of the territorial defense of Ukraine shot down the Russian military Mi-35M helicopter.

This was announced by Ukrainian politician Yuriy Mysiahin.

The Russian helicopter was downed by soldiers of the 231st Dnipropetrovsk Territorial Defense Battalion.

It is reported that Ukrainian fighters shot down a helicopter with the Igla man-portable air-defense systems.

It is worth noting that the Russian helicopter flew at low altitudes to avoid the missiles.

The Russian aircraft was observed from observation posts.

After the missile hit, a helicopter of the Russian Aerospace Forces caught fire and fell into a field.

The released footage featuring the wreckage of the downed aircraft shows the inscription “RUSSIA”, which is usually part of the inscription “VKS RUSSIA” (Russian Aerospace Forces).

Allegedly, the Russian pilots could not leave the crash site of the Mi-35M helicopter and died.

Mi-35M is a Russian transport and combat helicopter developed by the Mil Moscow Helicopter Plant.

It is produced both for export and for the needs of the Russian Defense Ministry.

It is intended for the destruction of armored vehicles, fire support of ground forces, landing operations, evacuation of the wounded, and transportation of cargo.
