Lithuania continues training the Ukrainian military on its territory.
In particular, L70 anti-aircraft system operators were trained in the country.
The Armed Forces of Lithuania reported this.
The message states that the main objectives of the training course were to prepare an anti-aircraft gun for combat and practice skills in destroying enemy planes, helicopters, and remotely controlled aerial vehicles (UAVs).

Lithuanian instructors also trained the Ukrainian military to maintain and conduct minor repairs of L70 40mm anti-aircraft guns.
In addition, during training with representatives of the military police, Ukrainian soldiers improved their knowledge of tactics, studied traffic regulation and control, and learned to use special means of planning operations and protecting important persons.
In January of this year, Lithuania announced that it would help strengthen Ukraine’s air defense with L70 anti-aircraft systems. The guns with ammunition will arrive soon.
The L70 40-mm autocannon was developed by Bofors in the post-war period and was adopted to service with the Swedish military in 1951. It was widely supplied abroad and was produced under license in six different European countries.
An electro-hydraulic drive is used for guidance. However, if necessary, the gun can be guided manually.
The L70 can fire both single shots and automatic fire. The gun’s ammunition includes fixed ammunition.
In addition, recently, Ukrainian mortar teams have completed training in Lithuania. The servicemen were trained to use 60mm mortars.
Previously, citizens of Lithuania raised €6 million for radars to strengthen the air defense of Ukraine.
