Gunners of the 148th Separate Artillery Brigade of the Ukrainian Air Assault Forces strike two Russian howitzers and a tank with counter-battery fire.

A video of their work was posted on the official Telegram page of the Air Assault Forces.

The enemy fired at Ukrainian positions from artillery in the area of the 148th Brigade’s M777 howitzers. After adjusting from a drone, the Ukrainian military opened a counter-battery fire.

The first target was a Russian D-20 howitzer, identified by the dust raised after the shots were fired. The paratroopers focused their fire on it.

The enemy howitzer was located in an unprepared position and near houses. Next to it was ammunition and gunpowder, which was on fire after an accurate shot from the artillerymen. The shelling damaged the cannon itself.

After that, Ukrainian artillerymen adjusted their fire to another Russian howitzer that was firing directly from the building.

Despite the enemy’s cover, the fire was accurately adjusted, and after the hit, the gun was likely disabled as the enemy stopped firing.

In addition, the artillerymen destroyed an enemy tank with a direct hit, adjusting fire with the help of a drone.

Militarnyi previously reported that in October 2024, paratroopers of the 80th Air Assault Brigade and artillerymen of the 44th Separate Artillery Brigade discovered and destroyed two enemy artillery installations in the Kursk region.

The reconnaissance servicemen shared the information with their fellow soldiers from the 44th Brigade, who fired 155mm rounds from the M777 howitzer at the targets.

According to the artillerymen, the trailed howitzers are characterized by high accuracy, which allows them to “send” shells several meters apart and hit the target accurately when adjusting fire from a drone.

In addition, to hit more important targets, the howitzer is equipped with the ability to use high-precision ammunition, significantly increasing the attacks’ effectiveness.
