Greece Delivers M113 APCs and Trucks to Lebanon

The Lebanese Armed Forces have received 13 tracked M113 armored personnel carriers and 10 military trucks from Greece at the Port of Beirut.

According to Defence Arabia, this delivery is part of a broader defense package from Greece.

The Lebanese military received the first part of the same package on January 16.

This assistance is part of a long-term support program Greece implemented to strengthen the Lebanese Armed Forces. Greece supports restoring the Lebanese government’s full control over the country’s entire territory and implementing UN Security Council Resolution 1701.

Greece also considers Lebanon an important element of regional security. Athens believes that instability in Lebanon would pose direct threats to all of southeastern Europe, including by triggering new waves of migration.

In 2024, Jordan transferred more than 50 M113 tracked armored personnel carriers from its own stocks to Lebanon.

The Lebanese Army operates around 1,000 M113s, although the exact number of operational vehicles is unknown. In addition to M113 variants such as the A2, A3, and M577, the army also operates former Belgian AIFV-B-C25 infantry fighting vehicles based on the M113 platform.
